On the Differentiation of Plasma Cells in Rat Thymus

Abstract
Development of plasma cells in thymus was observed from 1 day to 3 months aged rats. The conclusions are as follows;
1) Plasma cells appear in the peripheral area of cortex since 26 days after birth, and gradually the cells are seen near the central area as the ages are increasing. But still they are not found in the medulla at the end of 3 months after birth.
2) Plasma cells of thymus are seemed to be originated from reticulum cells.
3) The sites of development of plasma cells in the¢¥ thymus are subcapsular spaces and near fibrotic trabecula.
